Catherine Zhu

Catherine has been extensively involved in both the design and usability testing of a wide range of speech, touchtone, and mobile applications, allowing clients across many different industries to maximize their investment in the technology. Catherine has designed a number of custom speech applications leading clients through the entire project lifecycle including user research, requirements gathering, data analysis, call flow design, prompt writing, grammar development, voice talent coaching, usability testing, and tuning. With expertise in human factors, human-computer interaction, and speech technology, Catherine has also evaluated and usability tested numerous applications, working closely with clients and their customers to create easy to use, best of breed user experiences. She holds a Masters degree in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience with a specialization in Speech Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelors degree in Cognitive Science with a concentration in Linguistics from Rice University. Catherine continually strives to be an advocate for the user, leveraging her experience and education in user-centered design to create one-of-a-kind user experiences.
